Man, 30, arrested for raping 5yo girl

Pilibhit: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl at a village in Pilibhit district. Police said the incident took place when her parents left her at their neighbour’s house on Sunday evening, as members of both families went for work.While she was playing with another girl, the accused overpowered them and raped the 5-year-old. He fled the scene when the girls screamed. Local SHO said a case was registered under BNS section 65 (2) (rape of a woman under 12 years of age) along with the Pocso Act.In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man was arrested for molesting a 7-year-old girl at a village in the same district. The accused and the girl’s father work at the same place.The SHO added, “The accused, in this case, has been slapped with BNS sections 74 (criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 76 (criminal force with intent to disrobe her), along with Pocso Act.”
